Well we have just returned from a magical 4 day adventure to Lapland to see Santa Claus and what a fantastic time we had!! (Dec 7th-11th 2005)
We are dedicating a page on this website because for the first time since we set up The Megan Armstrong Cancer Appeal we have used funds to put a smile on Megan's beautiful face! We had talked about going last christmas, and things got in the way, we fear that maybe next year Megan may not be well enought to go so we decided after consulting with our closest Appeal supporters to do it this year. So a big thank you to all who have supported us! Megan and ouservelves had the best 4 days of our lives!!
Our trip started by flying out of Manchester Airport to Kittila Airport in Finnish Lapland, from there to the hotel and to our own log cabin in the Artic Wilderness.
Our adventure included searching out Santa at his post office and Megan helping Santa's elves to make presents for all the worlds children for this christmas. We also looked for him at his holiday home and after all the children big and small sang christmas songs he eventually made his way through the snow covered forrest led by one of his trusted reindeer to attend our Christmas party and handed out presents to all (above pic). The teddy Megan is cuddling is 'Mickley Bear', he lives at Megan's school and loves to go on holiday with any children from the school and they each have to fill in a diary of his adventures!
Parts of our magical adventure included Reindeer and Husky dog sleigh rides, snowmobiles and sledging and being intitiated into the Artic wilderness at a special cerimony, Megan had the best time and we felt 5 again!!
We would like to also say a huge thanks to the Rainbow Trust and the Langley family (Megan's godparents) for looking after Kyra in our home so that we could just take Megan and totally focus on her!
We would also like to say thanks to the Cosmos team who were out there, they were all fantastic and made the adventure that so much better by being a fantastic bunch who were great at their jobs.
Posing for yet another pic infront of more snow covered
trees. Lapland is one of the most beautiful places on earth
Infront of our very own log cabin in the forrest
